Introduction

Purpose

BelgaPress is a news platform of Belga News Agency. It allows one to search, discover, collect and publish news of any kind.

Customers with an appropriate agreement with Belga News Agency can integrate parts of BelgaPress within own IT tools for a smooth user experience.

The purpose of this document is to provide a technical description of how to integrate with Belgapress.

Vocabulary

Belga News Agency is further referred to as Belga.
Customers or partners who sign a legal agreement with Belga, are further referred to as Customer.
The technical party of the customer who integrates with the Belgapress API (either the customer themselves or an external partner), is further referred to as the Integrator.

Workflow

Once the legal agreement with the customer is in place, Belga can set up the customer’s user credentials (API key).
The integrator/customer can easily access the API, following the documentation.

Note: In the administration of Belgapress 1 key belongs to 1 customer. In case the same integrator is operating for multiple customers, the integrator has to make sure the right credentials are used for the right customer.

Constraints

Belga is licensed to distribute content of Belga’s shareholders and partners. For legal purpose, Belga has to monitor at all times any usage of this content.
Therefore, integration with Belgapress is limited to the constraints of the legal agreement between Belga and the customer.
